Key Largo November Fishing-Fishing is Heating Up as the Weather Cools Down
On Friday I fished a half day with new clients from Maryland. We started outside the reef trolling for wahoo and caught nice one. Wahoo trolling can be very productive this time of year.
Key Largo Fishing Report
When the bite outside the reef slowed down around 11:00 AM we then switched over to Yellowtail Snapper fishing. Unlike other offshore and reef fishing charters in the Florida Keys, Good Karma is equipped with a Rhodan 120 Volt G.P.S Trolling motor. This trolling motor is awesome! It allows me to set very quickly without wasting my clients valuable fishing time. It also allows me to move very quickly in the event that one spot is not working out. We finished the day with a mess of bonus Yellowtail Snappers for the guys to take back to Maryland with them along with the Wahoo.
On Sunday I fished with one of my very first clients, Ross. Ross has been fishing with me since I started my Key Largo fishing charter business. We spent some time wahoo fishing in the morning and had one bite early, but it did not stick. We targeted wahoo until the tide got right for Yellowtail Snapper fishing. Ross and his crew love Key Largo Yellowtail Snapper fishing.
We spent the rest of the day targeting Yellowtail Snappers and caught a few nice ones along with a couple of beautiful Cero Mackerel, which taste delicious! Cero Mackerel is considered “poor mans wahoo”.
The Black Grouper bite should heat up the closer we get to Thanksgiving. We are expecting a stronger cold front to pass through Florida Keys later this week which should get them fired up and eating.
Sailfish Bite Update
Charters targeting Sailfish daily are catching a few daily. Sailfish are catch and release only.
