Learn how I catch wahoo on tough days by listening to this this tackle tip podcast.
In this podcast I talk about the recent success Melinda Van Fleet and I had using the Cayman Crusher dead ballyhoo wahoo rig. This rig is used mainly in the Cayman Islands by fisherman targeting wahoo. I modified for the rig for Florida Keys wahoo fishing and made it work for my style of fishing. Check out the podcast for the results.
In this podcast I talk about a recent Florida Keys Fun fishing trip for Wahoo in the Florida Keys for wahoo. Book a Key Largo Fishing Charter for wahoo with Good Karma Sportfishing.
Wahoo Fishing Lures and how I select lures for targeting wahoo, dolphin, tuna, and sailfish in the Florida Keys.
In this podcast I talk about why a planer fishing is necessary on days when the surface water is dirty.
Re-spooling top shots of line takes up a considerable amount of time especially when operating multiple days. It is an absolute must to keep uniform tension on the line when re-spooling fishing reels and it nearly impossible to do this when you use a fishing buddy or when using cheap instagram/facebook re-spool gadget. I use the The Jay Jigs Bees Knees Line Spooler and my Land Rover truck tire as my fishing mate to help with the process of re-spooling line.
Mutton Snappers in the Florida Keys can be extremely challenging to catch at times, but during the winter months targeting them gets even more challenging when large schools of King Fish migrate through the Florida Keys. To avoid having to continually keep from tying on new hooks due to King Fish cutting off your hooks this winter, I highly recommend using a short trace of Titanium Leader rather than use Single Strand Wire.
Deep diving trolling plugs are very good wahoo lures, especially during the fall fishing calendar months in the Florida Keys. Why? As the water begins to cool down, the bait migrations arrive in the Florida Keys. Following the bait migrations will be Sailfish, King Fish, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna and even Yellowfin Tuna. Catching wahoo on large deep-diving swimming plugs is a very effective way to target wahoo during annual fall Florida Keys bait migration.
In this podcast I describe my personal set-up for light tackle wind-on leaders that I use for targeting Mutton Snappers Snappers in the Florida Keys.
In this podcast I will talk about why Piano wire is a hot ticket for wahoo fishing and other wahoo fishing tips and techniques can be found in my 4 part podcast series.
